And the heaven; We have built it with power, and indeed, We have been expanding it.
Lord Allah has created the heavens without any defect or flaw and without the help of anyone. And He is expanding it. That means the scientific finding that nothing in the universe is still, and that like the dots on a balloon, the spheres in the universe are also going distant from each other, is to be read together. At last, He will turn it back to its old form by bursting it asunder. As explained in verses 84: 3-5, He will change the earth into a single marble sheet, and He will assemble all creatures in the world to Mecca, the center of the world. As explained in verses 17: 13-14, on the Day of Judgment, the reckoning of everyone will be done by himself or herself by reading the Book of deeds fastened around everyone’s neck, which will be given to him or her as an illuminated spread-open book.
